 Yuri Averbakh, the world's oldest grandmaster, has died

On May 7, Yuri Averbakh, the world's oldest grandmaster, writer and journalist, passed away.

According to the Russian Chess Federation, Averbakh was 100 years old.

He started playing chess at the age of three, in 1952 he became an international grandmaster.
