According to the Walla Streer Journal, Israel is behind a drone attack on a defense facility in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
The publication cites US officials and people familiar with this issue.
According to the newspaper, this was the first blow inflicted by Israel since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned to power as head of government.
WSJ notes that the strike came amid talks between Jerusalem and Washington on new ways to counter Tehran.
The report also says the drones targeted a munitions factory near a facility owned by the Iranian Space Research Center, which is under US sanctions for alleged work on ballistic missiles.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian condemned the attack on the defense facility, calling it “cowardly.”
“This cowardly act was carried out today as part of an effort taken by the enemies of the Iranian people in recent months to make the Islamic Republic unsafe. Such measures cannot affect the will and intention of our specialists for peaceful nuclear development,” he said.
