WSJ: Israel behind strike near Syria-Iraq border

According to The Wall Street Journal, Israel is behind a series of nighttime airstrikes on a convoy near the Syrian-Iraqi border that killed at least 10 people, including several Iranian fighters.

The newspaper, citing unnamed sources, writes that Israel attacked a convoy of vehicles suspected of smuggling Iranian weapons.

Iraqi officials said the tanker convoy was carrying legal fuel that Iran sent to Lebanon .

Sources say at least some of the vehicles are believed to have carried ammunition and rockets in addition to oil.

The Israeli military declined to comment on the strike.
