 Woman sentenced to community service for bribing David Bitan

The Central District Court of Lod sentenced woman Likhi Sunak-Kuperli to seven and a half months of community service for bribing a Likud MP David Bitan in 2014.

This was reported by the Times of Israel.

The defendant bribed Bitan while he was deputy mayor of Rishon LeZion on behalf of supermarket chain Hatzi Hinam .

Sunak-Kuperli, who managed the property of supermarket chain Hatzi Hinam, was convicted of giving Knesset member Bitan a total of NIS 40,000 through an intermediary in exchange for his help in allocating public parking lots for use supermarket and tax breaks for the company.

In addition to community service, Sunak-Kuperli was fined NIS 30,000 and ordered to pay a NIS 40,000 confiscation.

Hatzi Hinam Network was also fined NIS 150,000 on the same charge as part of a plea deal.
