Without a tail: China introduced the concept of a new generation fighter
|News » Science & Technology
State-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) has unveiled a new generation drone concept.
A related promotional video has been released on WeChat's video channel.
At the very beginning of the video, the development of Chinese airborne radars is shown, and towards the end, a CGI-generated clip showing three unknown aircraft flying in formation.
Externally, the aircraft resembles the J-20 stealth fighter. They do not have tails, however, and the diamond-shaped wings appear larger than those of the J-20. Analysts say China may have unveiled a next-generation fighter jet in an attempt to get ahead of the US in development.
I would categorize the J-20S (2 seat version) as a 5.5 generation fighter
Technologies matured the J-20S will be integrated into China's 6th gen fighter
He who dominates the air, dominates the battlefield.
This will have huge geopolitical implications in the Western Pacific pic.twitter.com/R2eaYwsAk7— Zhao DaShuai 无条件爱国🇨🇳 (@zhao_dashuai) December 30, 2022
