The combination of nuclear and renewable energy is an attractive concept for achieving an optimal balance of energy system sustainability, energy security and environmental efficiency.

This is a good option for countries that are considering how to achieve such a balance. After all, small modular reactors (SMR) will complement renewable energy sources (RES), which can be “intermittent”.
