The WHO is calling on all countries to return to masks, Sky News reports.
According to WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the number of cases of COVID- 19 continues to rise, putting additional pressure on health care systems and healthcare workers.
“I'm also concerned about the upward trend in deaths,” – he said.
Ghebreyesus also stressed that the pandemic is “far from over” and variants of the Omicron strain continue to cause new waves of illness, hospitalizations and deaths.
