When will COVID vaccines be available for the youngest Israelis

Next week, coronavirus vaccines will be available to the smallest Israelis. Four health insurance funds are preparing to launch a campaign to vaccinate children aged 6 months to 5 years.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health and health insurance funds do not expect parents to stand in queues to vaccinate their children, writes " Israel Hayom.

This is because only a quarter of children aged 5-11 are vaccinated, and children aged 0-5 do not usually get severe coronavirus.

Also, for the first time, Israeli parents will be able to choose between two vaccines, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna. The difference between the two is that Moderna is given in two doses but is only 60% effective, while Pfizer-BioNTech's vaccine is given in three doses but is 80% effective.
