 West Nile mosquitoes detected in northern Israel

Mosquitoes infected with the West Nile virus have been found in northern Israel.

This is reported by the Times of Israel, citing data from the Israeli Ministry of the Environment.

According to the agency, infected mosquitoes were found in Nahal Barkan near the Golani training base; in Nahal Harod near the Shata prison; and in Kibbutz Kfar Rupin.

Those infected with West Nile virus usually experience flu-like symptoms and recover within a week. In rare cases, the disease can lead to death.
