Senior Palestinian officials have come out in support of PA leader Mahmoud Abbas, who accused Israel of “50 Holocausts” against the Palestinians.

The Fatah faction posted on social media a photo of a smiling Abbas with the caption: “Mr. President, you are strong. Continue with God's blessing and be sure “We are proud of you and we all support you.”
Monir al-Jagub, a senior Fatah official, declined demands for Abbas to apologize.
“No apologies for our struggle for freedom,” he said.
Hasan Asfour, a former PLO negotiator with Israel, said, “Abbas' statements are not inventions in their own right. The Palestinians must not remain silent about the war against President Abbas, whose words represent everyone Palestinian inside and outside the homeland.”
Munter al-Hayek, another senior Fatah official, said Abbas' remarks in Germany were meant to “remind the world of the suffering of the Palestinian people, who deserve an apology for the not crime.”
