Former Vogue fashion editor Andre Leon Telly has died in the US at the age of 74.

According to him, Leon died in a hospital in White Plains. He was one of the most prominent figures in the fashion world. For the first time he became interested in this industry as a child. André Leon has worked for Interview, Women's Wear Daily, W, and The New York Times.

In 1983, he became editor-in-chief of fashion news at American Vogue. He was also the creative director and right hand of Anna Wintour. At Vogue, he wrote his Style Fax column. Leon left the fashion gloss in 2013. Last year, he was awarded the Order of Arts and Letters.

During his career, Leon has been the stylist for Michelle Obama, Naomi Campbell, Mariah Carey and other celebrities. Moreover, he was friends with Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano and Yves Saint Laurent.
