The authorities of Warsaw decided to abandon the loud celebration of the New Year and explained their decision by the fact that there is a war in Ukraine, as well as financial considerations.

“In Ukraine, on the other side of our eastern border, a cruel, bloody, bestial war is going on, where people and civilians die every day. Therefore, this is not the kind of atmosphere conducive to organizing particularly joyful imprezas,” she said.

A representative of the Warsaw City Hall also noted that in the context of the energy crisis, it is appropriate to cut spending on entertainment.

Also, the authorities of Warsaw urged not to use salutes and fireworks during the holidays, because this could negatively affect immigrants from Ukraine.
