Volcano erupted again near Keflavik International Airport in Iceland

According to the meteorological service, the Fagradalsfjall volcano, located in the southwest of Iceland, just 32 kilometers from the capital Reykjavik, woke up again. The last eruption stopped just eight months ago.

The Icelandic Meteorological Office urges people to stay away from the volcano.

The eruption occurred in an uninhabited valley near Keflavik Airport, Iceland's international air hub. The airport remains open, flights have not been interrupted.

Magma erupts from a narrow fissure 100 to 200 meters long above the lava field after last year's eruption, the first on the Reykjanes peninsula in almost 800 years.
