Vise in the Bethlehem light. The first demonstration is outside
“Teaser is just a tasting, but we will definitely present the classic longer trailer by Christmas,” explained director Jan Svěrák. This time the father and son were joined by another Svěrák to the established duo. Jan’s son and Zdeněk’s grandson, František Svěrák, is a film editor.
“Because we expanded the team with another Svěrák, we were at the family cottage all summer and at work at the same time,” the director confided.
“A cutting room was established on the attic of the former children’s clubhouse, where our three generations could meet every day to work together. After sixty days, the film is finally edited and by the end of the year, sound engineer, trick studio and composer Ondřej Soukup will be working on it, “added Jan Svěrák.
Although the premiere of the film was scheduled for April 2022, the teaser is already showing March.
Zdeněk Svěrák and Vojtěch Kotek
“The film will be ready at that time, so there is no reason to delay the release,” explained Jan Svěrák. “Perhaps this is good news for all who look forward to seeing the light of Bethlehem on the canvas.”
The screenplay is based on the book bestsellers Povídky and Nové Povídky by Zdeněk Svěrák. Vojtěch Kotek, Tereza Ramba, Ondřej Vetchý, Vladimír Javorský and Jitka Čvančarová took on supporting roles.
