Violence against doctors: hospitals in Israel went on strike

On the morning of May 19, the Israeli Medical Association (IMA) launched a 24-hour strike in response to violent incidents at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Centers in Jerusalem and the Galilee in Nahariya. Hospitals across Israel will operate on Shabbat. All non-urgent transactions will be cancelled. Health insurance companies will also take part in the strike. Recall that on May 17, a drug addict from East Jerusalem was brought to Hadassah Ein Kerem after an overdose. His relatives, after the doctors declared his death, committed a pogrom in intensive care. One of them grabbed the doctor who signed the death certificate, put a knife to his throat and promised to stab him if he did not immediately begin to take resuscitation actions against the already deceased person.
