US nuclear power produces half of the nation's carbon-free electricity

In September 2022, US nuclear facilities had an average power factor of over 93%, compared to about 27% for wind and solar. And the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act 2022 (IRA) has ushered in a new paradigm that explicitly recognizes nuclear power as part of the taxonomy of carbon-free energy.
