UN envoy is 'deeply concerned' by IDF raid in Nablus

UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Thor Vennesland called for a de-escalation after the IDF raid in Nablus, during which terrorists were killed, some of whom planned to commit a terrorist attack in the coming days.< br />
The Palestinian death toll has risen to 11.

“Earlier today, 11 Palestinians, including an elderly man and a minor, were killed and about 100 injured during detention operations by Israeli security forces and subsequent clashes with armed Palestinians in Nablus. I am deeply disturbed by the ongoing cycle of violence and appalled by the loss of civilian lives,” — he said.

According to Vennesland, he is working with all stakeholders to “de-escalate the situation.”

“I urge all parties to refrain from steps that could further escalate and an already explosive situation”, — he urged.

Remarkably, despite the calls, the terrorists fired six rockets from Gaza towards Israel at night, one of which landed in the open and the rest were intercepted. In response, the IDF attacked the Hamas weapons plant and the terrorists' military complex.
