UN human rights experts express deep concern over the slow pace of the investigation into the murder of Lebanese intellectual Lokman Slim, which took place two years ago.
Reported by the Times of Israel .
“The Lebanese authorities have an obligation to fully investigate and bring to justice the perpetrators of this heinous crime. Failure to conduct a prompt and effective investigation could in itself constitute a violation of the right to life,” the experts said.
Slim was found dead in his car on February 4, 2021, one day after his family reported him missing. His bullet-riddled body was found in southern Lebanon -— a stronghold of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah movement, which he has harshly criticized.
