Ukrainian mural opened in the capital of Austria

The purpose of creating The Stripes of Freedom mural is to show that Ukraine is a part of the European Union community.

The authors of the mural are Ukrainian artist Nikita Kravtsov and French comics artist and director Vincent Parrono. Artists have reimagined famous female portraits by Gustav Klimt to pay tribute to the outstanding Austrian artist. At the same time, they added Ukrainian and European symbols to the work in order to reflect the common past.

This – the first of five murals within the framework of The Wall project, which is being implemented by the Ukrainian Institute and the Port agency with the support of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

The mural in the Austrian capital is located at Pfeilgasse, 1.
