The President of the European Football Union (UEFA), Aleksander Čeferin, doubted the return of Russian football clubs to European continental tournaments.
“All we underestimated the situation in the previous months, no one could have imagined that a war would break out. And when it started, we all thought it would last a couple of weeks. And so now it is very difficult to predict what will happen next. I'm not sure that Russian clubs will be able to play in European competition again. And we will do our best so that Ukrainian clubs can play in their tournaments. I have already said this several times: I am very sorry for all Ukrainian and Russian athletes, because, especially for Russian athletes, they feel the damage caused by the war. They suffered because of the ridiculous and insane decisions of several people”, & ndash; Čeferin said.
