UEFA decided to introduce a revolutionary rule in football

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has decided for the first time in the history of football to use a semi-automatic offside detection system.

“This innovative technology will allow VAR teams to more quickly and more accurately determine offside positions, helping to maintain the rhythm of the game and the consistency of decisions made. The system is ready for use in official matches and for use in every stadium of the Champions League,” commented Roberto Rosetti, head of the UEFA committee referees, commenting on the innovation. UEFA reported that it tracks 29 different points on the body of the players, determining more quickly and more accurately whether the player was offside.

Note that in July, FIFA announced that it would use this technology in the championship 2022 World Cup in Qatar. For the first time, this system will be tested on August 10 in the UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Frankfurt "Eintracht".
