TUS Airlines applied for direct flights from Israel to Qatar< /p>

Following Thursday's announcement of an agreement between Israel, FIFA and Qatar that would allow direct flights on the Tel Aviv-Doha route during the World Cup, TUS applied for flights to Qatar.

Negotiations on direct flights between Israel and Qatar began half a year ago, and now an agreement has indeed been reached. The World Cup will begin in 10 days, and airlines are expected to publish ticket prices in the coming days.

Israel and Qatar do not have diplomatic relations and direct flights. However, at least for the period of the World Cup, the Israelis will have the opportunity to fly to Doha without transfers. Consular services for Israeli citizens will also be provided in Qatar through a dedicated team to be set up in Doha.

Alon Oshfiz, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the agreement: “I would like to thank FIFA and the Qatari host side. Today's announcement will allow Israeli citizens to travel freely to Qatar and participate in World Cup games. We have successfully closed all guarantees, including Israel's access to consular services during their stay in Qatar. As this is the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East, the celebration of football is guaranteed and the Israelis are given the opportunity to build relationships and share cultural experiences with people throughout our region and around the world. I thank the many partners for reaching an agreement, including government ministries and the football association.”
