New details have emerged about the tragedy in Beit Shemesh, where Father Alexander Savenyuk allegedly killed his daughter Liana and committed suicide. It turned out that the assailant had mental health problems and drug abuse.

Alexander's ex-wife and the girl's mother, Yulia, told police her husband threatened to harm himself and was hospitalized with mental health problems.

According to Channel 12, Saveniuk had a police file for drug use. His body was sent for a forensic examination to find out if he was under the influence of drugs when he committed the alleged murder.

According to the press, Saveniuk also invited his son to join him in the apartment, but the teenager was delayed. Probably, the police believe that the father wanted to kill his son, but the teenager was saved by his delay. Recall that it was the son who found the bodies.

In addition, it became known that Alexander Saveniuk was noticed wandering around the area on Friday, he was in torn clothes.

The mayor of Beit Shemesh claims that there was no sign of any threat of violence prior to the tragedy and that the family was not known to welfare services. However, according to media reports, the father of the family was issued a restraining order, according to which he was forbidden to approach the children.
