Two bottles of ancient wines, which were found in the sunken ship of the XVII century, put up for auction auction house Christie’s. The crashed ship was found in 2010. At a depth of 40 metres in a layer of mud and silt was discovered baskets containing 17 bottles of wine. One of the bottles broke during extraction, and another was opened by the experts for analysis.
According to the testimony of researchers, the bottle contained a strong red wine that was bottled in them, between 1670 and 1690 years. According to the Professor of oenology at the University of Burgundy strongholds of Goujon, the fact that the bottle was the wine, indicate the traces of tartaric acid and decomposition products of tannins. He also says that the drink still contains a small amount of ethanol.
