The CRDF and the Ministry of education and science allocate funds for research in the field of agriculture

American Foundation CRDF Global in collaboration with the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine takes projects from joint teams of U.S.-Ukrainian researchers specializing in the agricultural Sciences until February 28.

It is reported that the American Foundation CRDF Global and the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine has announced a competition of joint research in the field of agribusiness and alternative energy.

The competition involves the selection of projects in two main categories:

  1. Agricultural biotechnology, including plant pathology, genetic engineering, molecular markers and diagnostics as well as methods that reduce and/or eliminate the presence of plant diseases;
  2. Alternative energy, including engineering, nanotechnology, biochemistry, Microbiology, and various studies in this area.

The winners will be awarded 57 000, including 50 000 from the Global Fund CRDF and 7 000 from the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine.

As we reported earlier, the robot has independently studied the famous Board game.

Scientists from mit have created a robot that learned to play “jenga”. The game consists in one hand to get the bricks and put them on the top of the tower. You need to build a tower as high as possible. The loser is the one after which the tower falls.

Engineers have equipped the robot with a video camera, manipulator and special sensors. The robot learned to identify which brick are easier to get. However, he took into account the fact that the tower should not be destroyed. Thus, the robot was able to learn as vision and touch.

The final purpose of the game, the robot realized in the moment when you pulled more than 200 bricks.

Scientists believe that independent learning allows robots to better understand problem situations and finding the right solutions for performing tasks with high precision.

Perhaps these robots will use in industry or agriculture. They can easily learn to collect the garbage or sort the goods.
