Since the beginning of the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, there have been 21,965 civilian casualties, among them 8,231 people were killed, 13 734 – injured. These figures were recorded by the United Nations Organization.

According to the report of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Organization has confirmed the deaths of 3664 men, 2173 women, 260 boys and 203 girls, 31 children and 1900 adults so far unknown.

According to the UN, 17,619 victims (6,372 dead and 11,247 injured) were located in the territory controlled by Ukraine at the time of the Russian invasion.

From 1 to On March 12, the UN recorded 293 victims among Ukrainian civilians – 84 dead and 209 injured.

The UN stressed that the actual number of casualties is much higher, as information from some places where there was intense fighting has been delayed, and many reports have not yet been confirmed. This applies, for example, to Mariupol, Lisichansk, Popasna and Severodonetsk, where there are numerous civilian casualties.
