German Prince Ernst August, head of the Hanoverian royal house, sued his own son. Ernst August Jr., secretly from his father, sold the Marienburg family castle, which belonged to the family for 154 years, writes MailOnline.

In 2004, the Prince of Hanover transferred several large properties to his son, including Marienburg. In 2018, August Jr. realized that the maintenance and restoration of the castle was too expensive for him and sold it to the German government for 1 euro, without telling his family anything.

Together with the castle, about a hundred old paintings, family jewelry, antique furniture and sculptures. The father of August Jr. intends to challenge the deal in court.

“The Bundestag has already voted to allocate 14 million euros for the reconstruction of the castle, so the government, apparently, considers it completely its” , – the message says.
