COVID situation in Israel: infection rate increased

The Israeli Ministry of Health today presented new data on the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Judging by the data of the Ministry of Health, the infection rate R has begun to grow. A couple of days ago, the coefficient was 0.93, and today it has reached 1.03. This may indicate a worsening situation with coronavirus in the country.

At the same time, the number of new cases of coronavirus infection remains relatively low. Over the past day, only 2015 infected were detected. However, the number of citizens taking tests for COVID has also decreased. Two days ago, 59,599 people were tested, and over the past day – 35,571 people.

The number of seriously ill patients is (as of May 13) 103 people, of which 48 patients are connected to ventilators.

Despite this situation, the Israeli government has not yet discussed the possible introduction of restrictions or tightening of quarantine measures. Earlier, the Israeli authorities decided to exempt passengers from Ben Gurion Airport from undergoing PCR tests. The corresponding decision was made due to a decrease in the incidence rate.
