The rights to Winnie the Pooh received the world community

The Tale of Winnie the Pooh by Alexander Milne, & quot; The Sun Also Rises & quot; Ernest Hemingway and many other books, films and musical works have become public knowledge. Users will be able to freely copy, distribute and use for various purposes.

The Verge reported that an impressive archive of 400 thousand early recordings has been added to the already existing list. A law passed in 2018 standardized how early sound recordings should be processed in accordance with copyright laws. The term of their protection for recordings made before 1923 has already expired. These include works by Ethel Waters, Mamie Smith, The Sousa Band and many others.

By law, Disney's Mickey Mouse will be in the public domain in 2024. The company now retains original works for new works and adaptations of Winnie the Pooh and Bambi by Felix Solten, but the works themselves no longer belong to it. In addition, people can not only write a script based on the original work, but also use the appearance or features of any of its characters. The only exception is Tiger, this character appeared in cartoons a couple of years later.

Some problems may arise for remixers who decide to use the music of the film studio. It is not yet completely clear.
