As the search and rescue operation continues after the devastating earthquakes in Turkey, the death toll has increased.
Yunus Sezer, head of the Office for Emergency Situations and Disasters (AFAD), said this.
It is specified that the number of victims, as of February 18, has already increased to 40,642 people.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reports, citing data from the Syrian government and the UN, that in Syria the death toll exceeded 5,800 people.
Earlier, rescuers rescued three people alive in Turkey, including a child. This happened 13 days after the earthquake caused the building to collapse.
