This is reported by the NRC publication, citing a document from the association of water supply companies Vewin.

Among the reasons for a possible Drinking water problems cite drought, water pollution and increased demand for water due to population and economic growth.

The report highlights that the water supply system is “reaching its limits”; for these reasons.

“In addition, the quality of drinking water sources is deteriorating due to pollution from agriculture, industry and households. Future generations are threatened by a less reliable supply of drinking water,” the publication writes.
