Updated Ukrainian banknotes
The national Bank of Ukraine introduces into circulation the updated banknotes of 50 and 200 hryvnias and coins of 5 and 10 hryvnias which will gradually replace paper notes. Look, the look of the new Ukrainian money!
As explained in the national Bank, updated 50 and 200 hryvnia more reliable and protected from fraud. The banknote system was improved protection, and the design imitated banknotes of the new generation, 20, 100, 500 and 1000 UAH.
For the convenience of the cash payments and savings of the state address also will be available in coins of 5 and 10 hryvnias. The national Bank has announced the timing of innovation:
- 20 December 2019 in circulation and will be the coin of 5 hryvnia and updated banknotes of 50 hryvnia;
- February 25, 2020 – in treatment will do an updated banknote of 200 hryvnias;
- in the middle of the 2020 – in treatment will be introduced coins of 10 hryvnias.
Will look like new 50 and 200 hryvnia
Design 50-hryvnia banknotes were unchanged since 2004, and 200-hryvnia remained unchanged since 2007. Updated the main banknotes contain images of previous samples having similar dimensions and similar color scheme, but their main difference is the enhanced protection.
In particular, the improved definition to the elements of the press, including for people with visual impairments; modified and improved ultraviolet and infrared protection.
Do I need to change old bills
The NBU stressed that citizens do not need to exchange the banknotes in denominations of 5, 10, 50 and 200 hryvnia previous sample on the upgraded banknotes and coins. They will be able for an unlimited period of time to pay at the same time and new money, and preliminary bills of appropriate denominations.
Banknotes in denominations of 5 and 10 hryvnias previous model years gradually as a result of natural wear will be replaced in circulation by banknotes and coins updated.
