The Ministry of Health presented the rules for feeding newborns

< /p>

The Ministry of Health has presented a reminder for young mothers in Israel about breastfeeding in the first days after childbirth. "The first hours and days of a newborn– the most important period for further successful breastfeeding, so we want to arm you with short but important rules,” the message says. The Ministry of Health recommends that, if possible, breastfeed the baby within the first hour after birth. "Feed your baby according to the signs of hunger and satiety, crying is already a late sign of hunger. Frequent breastfeeding in the very first period of an infant's life stimulates milk production, reinforces the baby's normal suckling pattern and, over time, increases the chances of successful continued breastfeeding,” the agency added. It is clarified that the early use of bottles and pacifiers before breastfeeding is established can make it difficult to normal course. “Breastfeeding also has a beneficial effect on mother's health – it reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes,” the Ministry of Health added.
