The Israeli became the champion of the Maccabiah for the third time. Yaakov Tomarkin won the final in the 200m backstroke, becoming the first swimmer to win three consecutive Maccabiah victories in the same discipline.

“I am very happy to win the 200m backstroke for the third time in a row at the Maccabiah and become the first man in history to do so. This is my fourth participation in the Maccabiah and I am still excited and happy to compete in our home pool,” he said after the swim.
