IDF demolishes house of Palestinian militant in Jerusalem who killed sergeant at checkpoint < /p>

Police say the home of militant Uday Tamimi, who attacked troops at a nearby checkpoint, was demolished in the Shuafat refugee camp, police said. Sergeant Noa Lazar, 18, was killed in the attack.

Uday Tamimi is accused of killing the sergeant. Tamimi fled the scene on October 8 last year and was killed while attempting another attack at a checkpoint at the entrance to the West Bank city of Ma'ale Adumim on October 19.

Israel regularly demolishes Palestinian homes, accused of carrying out deadly terrorist attacks based on the policy. The effectiveness of this policy is hotly debated even within the Israeli security services, while human rights activists denounce the practice as unjust collective punishment.

A police statement on Wednesday said, that 300 officers from the Jerusalem site, along with additional Maghaw, IDF and home front units, as well as representatives of the Jerusalem municipality, worked in the camp to demolish the house.

The demolition is being carried out after appeals filed on behalf of Tamimi , were rejected.
