An Egyptian army officer and 10 soldiers were killed after “preventing a terrorist attack” at a water station east of the Suez Canal.

Reported by The Jerusalem Post with reference to the statement of the representative of the Egyptian army.

Egyptian servicemen were killed in a clash with militants who attacked the station. Five more people were injured.

“Terrorist elements are being pursued and besieged in one of the isolated areas in the Sinai,” an Egyptian army spokesman said in a statement.
