The Asian Olympic Committee allowed the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes

The OCA informed 45 countries about the participation of Russia and Belarus in the Asian Olympic Games. Since there were no discussions with the countries by the OCA, this caused a number of questions from the participants of the competition.

The Asian Olympic Committee announced that 500 athletes from both countries will take part in the competition. But not a single representative of Russia and Belarus will be able to win any medal of the competition. The committee also promised to ensure that Asian athletes have no difficulties in qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

This OCA decision raised a number of questions from the participants of the competition. They see a lot of problems in such an invitation.

“Since Russian and Belarusian athletes are participating, hosting the playoffs at the Asian Games may create some problems. We will ask the OCA how it will resolve these situations, as well as in what sports Russian and Belarusian athletes will compete in the Asian Games”,– said a representative of the Korean Sports Committee.
