Israeli Tourism Minister Chaim Katz has announced that he is embarking on a plan to bring the prestigious Michelin Food Guide to the country.
The deal is expected to be worth around 1.5 million euros. One half of the costs will be covered by the Ministry of Tourism, and the other half – the municipality of Tel Aviv, the first city in Israel where a prestigious guide is supposed to work.
Israeli restaurateurs have already received Michelin stars, but only for restaurants operating in Europe – Moshik Roth in Amsterdam, Asaf Granit in Paris and Gal Ben Moshe in Berlin.
