 Swedish flag burned in Jakarta because of scandal with Turkey in NATO

Protesters gathered outside the Swedish embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday to protest against the burning of the Koran by a far-right Danish politician.

Rasmus Paludan destroyed the holy book Muslims in Stockholm in early January near the Turkish embassy.

The burning and other protests have led to a serious diplomatic conflict between Sweden and Turkey.

Sweden needs Turkey's approval to join NATO, which is now is under threat.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently said that his country could approve Finland's application, but not Sweden's.

Other anti-Swedish protests also took place in Pakistan, Iraq, Iran , Afghanistan and Lebanon this month.

The Swedish Embassy in Jakarta announced But the arson does not reflect the opinion of the government.
