Sweden Tightens COVID Restrictions

Sweden tightens COVID restrictions

Sweden has decided to tighten quarantine restrictions due to the outbreak of the Omicron coronavirus strain.

According to SVT, Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson announced this.

According to her, the number of confirmed cases of infection is breaking all records in Sweden.

The quarantine restrictions will come into force on January 14. They imply that bars and restaurants will close at 23:00.

We now believe that the situation needs to be taken to reduce the burden on the healthcare system. I am well aware that these are measures that infringe on the daily life of people. Therefore, I also want to emphasize that they are temporary, that both the government and the authorities will assess the need for measures on an ongoing basis, '' Andersson said.
