Suspect arrested in Ben Gurion in connection with Tel Aviv shooting

An Israeli with ties to a major organized crime group was arrested on Thursday at Ben Gurion Airport over suspicions he was linked to a recent house shooting in the north Tel Aviv.

Reported by the Jerusalem Post.

The suspect was apprehended as soon as he landed in Israel by the International Crime Investigation Unit at Lahav 433.

This detention follows the arrests of four suspects in connection with the shooting in Tel Aviv. Earlier in January, a car was fired on in a prestigious area of Tel Aviv. According to a police report, the house belonged to a prominent Israeli developer who had previously acted as a government witness.

An unnamed Israeli businessman was among those arrested. The police's preliminary suspicion was that the businessman had ordered the recent shelling of houses in Tel Aviv.

The court extended the arrests of all five suspects in the case until next week.
