Sub-variant of Omicron strain discovered in Israel
20 cases of infection with a subvariant of the Omicron strain – BA2 have been detected in Israel.
This is reported by The Times of Israel.
The subvariant BA2 has additional mutations beyond those of the Omicron strain. It has already been identified in several countries.
It is currently unknown if BA2 is more dangerous than Omicron.
