The Ministries of Environment and Health warn that strong southwesterly winds are causing air pollution to very high levels in the Negev and Arava in southern Israel. Moderate to high levels of pollution are seen in the rest of the country.
Officials are advising high-risk groups, including the elderly, children, pregnant women and people suffering from heart and lung problems, to avoid strenuous exercise at outdoors.
