The Ministry of Health told Strauss this morning that a decision was made to suspend the “proper manufacturing permit” as a result of an inspection conducted at the plant on Tuesday, April 26 ; for the plant for a period of three months or until all deficiencies found during the inspection are corrected. The companies further clarified that if the plant makes the necessary corrections earlier, the permit will be returned before the end of the specified period. During today's visit of Director General of the Ministry of Health Prof. Nachman Ash, Head of Public Health Service Dr. Sharon Elroy Price, and Ms. Pnina Oren Schneider, Head of the State Food Quality Control Service under the Ministry of Health, to the Strauss in Nazareth, the leaders of the Ministry of Health closely followed what was happening there. At the end of the tour, Director General of the Ministry of Health Prof. Nachman Ash said, “We came here to investigate the failures that caused the contamination of the production line.” According to him, the factory is quickly learning from what happened, it will have to go through additional processes to bring everything back to full order. “The plant will be opened only after we are sure that the line is safe and that all measures will be taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents,” he concluded.
