At least 10 people have died in five southern US states as a result of a severe storm. NBC News writes about this.

It is reported that 4 people died in Kentucky, three – in Alabama, and one – in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi.

In most cases, people died due to falling trees as a result of strong winds. In some areas, wind gusts reached 80 km/year.
In addition, more than 650,000 homes and businesses are still without electricity.

An emergency has been declared in Kentucky.
