Sting in Venice, the tenderness of his wife during the concert-tribute to Morricone
An exclusive gala dinner with a concert live by the great flutist Andrea Griminelli in homage to Ennio Morricone, with the surprise presence of Zucchero, Sting and Nek: it is the event organized by Fenix Entertainment and Bvlgari on the occasion of the 78th edition of the Venice International Film Festival in the suggestive frame of the Cloister of San Nicolò al Lido. During the evening Andrea Griminelli, a friend and long-time collaborator of Morricone, performed accompanied by an orchestra of 30 elements conducted by maestro Diego Basso, offering a preview of some pieces of the album «Griminelli plays Morricone».
The album, exclusively licensed for Fenix Music, will contain 15 songs by the great composer Ennio Morricone, for flute, orchestra and choir, and 5 duets in which world-renowned artists participated, including the same Sting, Zucchero, Chris Botti and Aida Garifullina. During the event that anticipated the release of the album Nek performed live singing “Se Telefando”, set to music by Morricone and brought to success by Mina.
“I met Ennio Morricone at the age of 8, when I listened for the first time to the themes for ‘Giù la testa’ and ‘For a fistful of dollars’ – said Andrea Griminelli – Ennio Morricone is in the Olympus of great composers, Music with a capital M, the Music that gives you emotions inside, that pushes you to study and search for something new. In my life as a musician, then, I was lucky enough to share many moments with the Maestro; what began as a professional relationship has evolved into a profound relationship of friendship ». The evening, organized with the support of Moët & Chandon, Audi Motorclass and Sina Hotel and whose menu was curated by chef Tino Vettorello, was attended by prominent personalities of Italian music, cinema, fashion, culture and industry and international.
