At least two children and one adult sought medical attention for suspected salmonellosis following a mass recall of Strauss products. The children turned to the medical center “Assuta” in Ashdod. They are waiting for test results. An adult man was taken to the emergency room in Bnei Brak. Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz said the incident will be investigated. The factory is prohibited from reopening until there are no traces of salmonella. “The chocolate factory will not return to production until we come to the unequivocal conclusion that it can produce products that are healthy, clean and do not pose a threat to the public,” said Horowitz.
