State Department: no one asked US to investigate murder of Al-Jazeera journalist

Neither Israel nor the Palestinian Authority asked the US to help investigate the murder of Al-Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Akle in Jenin. This was reported in the US State Department. State Department spokesman Ned Price said he was unaware of requests for help from either side. “We have made it clear to both the Israeli and Palestinian authorities that we expect the investigation to be transparent and impartial, as well as a full and thorough account of the circumstances of the murder of Shirin Abu Akle,” — Price emphasized. Meanwhile, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said officials have publicly invited the United States to take part in the investigation.
