A Spaniard calling for a “holy war” against Jews on social media, was sentenced to two years in prison and a fine, according to the news site Diario de Navarra.
The 40-year-old defendant was sentenced by the Provincial Court of Navarra for hate speech linked to his social media posts , in which he called for an attack on Israel and a “holy war”.
The Spaniard was monitored for a long time by the cyberspace unit of the Spanish National Police. For more than a year, the unit monitored the man's social media posts.
Police said his posts included calls for a “holy war”; against Israel and praising the actions of Hamas.
The Spaniard was prosecuted under article 510 of the Spanish Penal Code for hate speech on the Internet, including discrimination or violence against a group or person on racist, anti-Semitic or other grounds.< /p> Follow us on Telegram
