South Africa: thug who blew up exchanger in Tel Aviv will again stand trial

Israeli gang leader Yaniv Ben Simon appeared in court Friday at an extradition hearing.

Jerusalem Post reports.

The accused will appear again in a South African court next week, where he will be charged with possession of drugs, illegal firearms and ammunition. Ben Simon will also be charged with possession of a prohibited firearm.

Previously, a court in Johannesburg extended Yaniv Ben Simon's detention until Monday.

Yaniv Ben Simon was suspected of involvement in a criminal attack on Yehuda Halevi Street in Tel Aviv in 2003, where three innocent citizens were killed. He was arrested during a raid on November 17.
